hey ladies and gentlemen. i bet u all know who is the wierd uncle i met at Prince 2 during my days in Sg internation film fest. yes mr Toh. the one that never changes clothes and talks nonsense. like i have said b4, jason told me about zombie dogs a film directed by him and today while i was flipping the events fact sheet, i saw the film ZOMBIE DOGS. part of cine singapore a event to honour sg films. gt talking cock, $$ not enuf etc.

now i shall blog abt the story of zombie dogs.

zombie dogs is a film that mixes fiction and documentary becomes a mockumentary - a fake documentation.

director (its directors guys) toh hai leong plays himself a fast talking filmmaker who is casting actors to play in his porno-murder-cannibal film (what the). the film potrays singapore as a soulless materialistic society that is unable to express any sexual intimacy (horny uncle) or closeness. uttering crazy monologues (he always does that) in front of the camera while slurping on instant noodles soup, toh offers an alternative lifestyle, which is not too tempting (of cos, its distracting not tempting) while we are left puzzled (we are always) whether this is a real documentary or not (its fake obviously) it is highly amusing (laugh at uncle toh) and pretty bizzare to follow (those who follow are not very good either) the path of one crazy dreamer (yes he is crazy)

toh hai leong is a sg based freelance critic who writes for independent film publications such as screen international and world paper. he has covered the HK international film fest since 1985 and specializes in the cinemas of HK, TW, CN, Korea, Japan.

yes rosy is UNCLE TOH.
